A Little About Me

I am originally from the UK and have spent the past 9 years teaching mathematics at Challenger School. Throughout my teaching career, I've particularly enjoyed helping students who may not initially feel confident in math, discover that they are capable of understanding and solving challenging problems.

I believe every student learns differently. My approach is centered on helping students understand the why behind mathematics, rather than simply memorizing procedures, while developing the confidence and problem-solving skills they can carry with them into future math courses.

After many years in the classroom, I decided to create JumpStart Math to provide students with a more personalized learning environment through individualized instruction and small-group classes.

A Little About Me Outside the Classroom

I am a mom of three grown children, and education has always been an important part of our family. My children have each followed their own paths through education and their careers, which has given me an even greater appreciation for the fact that there isn't one right way for every student to learn and succeed.

I bring that perspective, along with my classroom experience, to every student I work with.
